I LOVE to listen to music while I’m painting. It doesn’t necessarily inspire my creative process, but it keeps me moving along!
It’s pretty common for me to listen to Pavarotti in the studio, (I’m obsessed) or classical. This is the music that really keeps me focused while working. That’s how my brain is wired. But…
I listen to every other kind of music (as long as it’s good) outside of the studio. I wanted to change this up a bit. I tend to get bored. I wanted to see what my brain could handle while painting.
I picked Mondays to do my experiment, because, well, in my mind, Mondays need all the help they can get, and I could use the kick start.
I found this site called 8Tracks http://8tracks.com/. You get a free hour of listening every week. After the hour is up, you’re given the option to upgrade for $ for non stop playing. I’m doing the free right now. What I like about this site is that you can create playlists and listen, or follow other playlists, of all genres.
I went on a search for playlists that maybe others were listening to for creating. Listened to a bunch, and jotted down the tracks. These songs are from a combination of two playlists that caught my attention. Yes, I journaled it 😀
