"How do you capture solitude -- is it with light, color? How do you express the sound of stillness - line, space? Oil paint, for me, is the medium I work with to best explore light and color, line and space; to explore form, to explore the intensity and depth of a subject, and to communicate emotion, visually."

—Lenore Corey

Lenore Corey is an oil painter. Her work connects what we see visually in our outside world to the mystery and reality of our inner world. The subjects of her painted stories range from still life, poetry, sea and land, and people. Often, you can find her use of metaphors and symbolism in her color schemes, in a setting, or in words. The rhythms of Nature, the cadences of language, and the relationship of the two are where her inspirations are born.
